Streamlining our Policies and Standards
We’ve learned a lot in our 24-year history. One of our learnings is that we need to be more cost-effective and outcome-oriented to be of value to our certificate holders. So, we’re simplifying and streamlining our system, while maintaining integrity and transparency.
Assessing Risk and Turning What we’ve Learned into Action
Internally, we call it a “risk-based approach to the FSC normative framework”. It sounds complicated, but what we want to achieve is simple: we are working to make sure that our standards and policies are easy to understand and follow; and that these produce tangible results in a cost-effective manner.
During 2017, two concept papers were drafted and discussed at our general assembly to inform the development of innovative solutions. Work continues with these concepts.
